The Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction has invited Evergreen Heights Elementary School to be a featured speaker during the NCSM Leadership in Mathematics Education Conference in Philadelphia on April 25-28.

Principal Anne Gayman and three of her teachers, Staci Erickson, Arnie Grab and Pam Parks, will present on how their school closed the achievement gap between students groups in mathematics.

In 2011, Evergreen Heights was one of only two schools statewide to be awarded the National Title I, Part A Distinguished Schools Award for successfully closing the achievement gap, as measured by the Measurements of Student Progress.

Evergreen Heights was recognized for this honor at the January National Title I Conference in Seattle and received a $10,000 award.
