Fire blotter: Plane crash across the street from school

From the Valley Regional Fire Authority.

Between Nov. 3 and Nov. 9, the Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to the following calls for service, among many others.

Nov. 3

Aid call: 5:40 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters and King County Medic One paramedics evaluated and treated a man whose family had found him unresponsive, and paramedics transported him to a local hospital for further care.

Nov. 4

Aid call: 10:16 a.m. (Auburn). Firefighters and King County Medic One paramedics evaluated and treated a pregnant woman who was in active labor, and King County Medic One transported her to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center for further care.

Nov. 5

Aid call: 5:28 p.m. (Algona). Firefighters and King County Medic One paramedics responded to a man who was complaining of chest pain, and a private ambulance transported him to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center for further care.

Nov. 6

Aid call: 11 a.m. (Auburn). Firefighters treated a teenage girl in the throes of an allergic reaction before a private ambulance transported her to a local hospital.

Nov. 7

Plane crash: 1:32 p.m. (Pacific). Firefighters responded to reports of a small plane down in a field across the street from Alpac Elementary. They made contact with the pilot and passenger, who had safely exited the aircraft. There were no injuries, and both individuals remained on scene with the Pacific Police Department.

Nov. 8

Structure fire: 4:37 pm. (Auburn). Firefighters responded to reports of smoke and fire in a single unit of a three-story apartment building found smoke coming from the chimney area, with the sprinkler system controlling the fire. Firefighters confirmed all occupants were safe, and no injuries were reported. The cause is under investigation.

Nov. 9

Illegal burn complaint: 5:02 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a report of an illegal burn, ended up schooling the occupants on the requirements for recreational fires and outdoor burning.
