Between March 14 and March 20, the Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 293 requests for service, among which were the following:
March 14
Accident: 6:54 a.m. (Auburn). Firefighters and King County Medics treated the victim of a vehicle vs. pedestrian accident before the victim was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center for further care.
Residential fire: 5:01 p.m. (Algona). Firefighters from the VRFA and South King Fire and Rescue were dispatched to a house fire where they found smoke and flames at the front of the home. Firefighters conducted fire attack and search activities. No injuries were reported, and VRFA fire investigators are doing their thing.
March 16
Service call: 8:05 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters dispatched to a water leak in a private residence found a second story bathroom water leak. Firefighters turned off water to the residence, helped the homeowner with water removal, and contacted a restoration company to mitigate the water damage. Firefighters educated the homeowner on the location of the water shut off and how it works.
March 17
Illegal burn: 10:58 a.m. (Algona). Firefighters hurrying to investigate an illegal burn found unauthorized burning, educated the resident on outdoor burning regulations, and watched him extinguish the fire.
March 19
Accident: 1:17 p.m. (Algona). Firefighters responded to a vehicle into a fence. On arrival, they found one car had crashed through a fence into multiple boats at a boat dealership. Firefighters controlled a gasoline leak and located one patient complaining of multiple injuries. Firefighters evaluated the patient and a private ambulance transported that person to MAMC.
March 20
Aid call: 6:04 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters stabilized a woman in her 30s with a possible broken collarbone and A332 transported her to MAMC.
