Fire heavily damages vacant home in south Auburn

An early Monday morning fire severely damaged a home in the 3300 block of R Street Southeast in South Auburn.

An early Monday morning fire severely damaged a home in the 3300 block of R Street Southeast in South Auburn.

Just after 12:30 a.m. a neighbor called 911 to report breaking glass and flames shooting from the home. When firefighters from the Valley Regional Fire Authority arrived, they found the home engulfed in flames. They were able to extinguish the fire quickly, though damage to the home was extensive.

Firefighters found no one in the home. There were no injuries sustained by firefighters.

The cause of the fire is undetermined. A fire investigator is on scene.
