Four Auburn School District elementary schools – Chinook, Evergreen Heights, Gildo Rey and Pioneer – have been selected to receive a 2014 Washington Achievement Award sponsored by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction and the State Board of Education.
Award winners are selected using the State Board of Education Revised Achievement Index and are based on statewide assessment data for the three previous years. The award is given in six categories: overall excellence, high progress, reading growth, math growth, extended graduation rate and English language acquisition.
Schools will be honored at an awards ceremony April 28 at Spanaway Lake High School.
