About Mary Olson Farm
The farm is a 67-acre 1887 family subsistence farm located along the Green River. In the wet Pacific Northwest, it is rare to find a full assembly of old wooden buildings remaining, but at the farm all that was required for a family subsistence farm still exists.
The Olson family built a barn (1897), two-story farmhouse (1902), and a smoke house (circa 1910), outhouse (circa 1910), icehouse/garage (circa 1920) and weaving house (circa 1910), all of which have been fully restored. They are set in a private canyon defined by Olson Creek and filled with the 100-plus-year-old orchard, pastures and farmhouse yard.
