Just in time for Halloween: ‘Night of the Living Dead’ at the Auburn Ave

In the October spirit, the spooky classic, “Night of The Living Dead”, comes to life … or death. Zombies invade the Auburn Avenue Theater on Friday, featuring talented actors of the Auburn Community Players.

Performances are: 7 p.m. Friday and Monday; 6 p.m. Saturday; and a special 9:30 p.m. showing Saturday at the historic theater, 10 Auburn Ave.

Fall out from a satellite probe shot to Venus returns to Earth carrying a mysterious radiation that transforms the unburied dead into flesh-eating zombies. Seven people trapped in an isolated farmhouse, held hostage by the ravenous ghouls, begin to turn on each other as the dead encroach. A gripping terror-filled monochromatic play that brings all the fright of the cult classic to life. This blend of thrilling horror laced with touches of black humor envelops the audience in the action and unfolds into a shocking theatrical ending.

The Auburn Community Players comprise of local, volunteer actors from the community. They produce two shows a year, rehearsing and building sets and costumes in their spare time. To audition or volunteer, visit the ACP Facebook page or contact the Auburn Parks Department.
