Kersey Way SE to close for area improvements

Kersey Way Southeast from Oravetz Road Southeast to 2nd Street East, including the intersection at 53rd Street Southeast and Kersey Way Southeast, will be closed to through traffic beginning Monday, July 7 at 7 a.m.

Kersey Way Southeast from Oravetz Road Southeast to 2nd Street East, including the intersection at 53rd Street Southeast and Kersey Way Southeast, will be closed to through traffic beginning Monday, July 7 at 7 a.m.

It is anticipated that the intersection of 53rd Street Southeast will be reopened to allow southbound traffic on to Kersey Way on July 25 at 7 p.m.

The Kersey Way Road closure north of 53rd Street Southeast is expected to continue until Aug. 9 at 7 p.m.

The developer will be constructing water, sanitary sewer and storm drainage lines along with the required surface improvements.

Those upgrades include a significant change to the road grade of Kersey Way Southeast along with curb and gutter, sidewalk, asphalt pavement, street lighting and the addition of a traffic signal at 53rd Street Southeast.

The required improvements will provide the necessary capacity for the planned residential developments in the area.
