Lions, Auburn students to hold White Cane Days on May 7-8

Auburn Noon Lions Club will hold its annual White Cane Days on May 7-8 at three Auburn supermarkets.

Auburn Noon Lions Club will hold its annual White Cane Days on May 7-8 at three Auburn supermarkets.

Lions Club members along with students from all four Auburn high schools will be at the storefront doors collecting used eye glasses and cash donations from the community to help the visually impaired.

Donations will be accepted from noon-6 p.m. May 7 and 9 a.m.-6 p.m. May 8 at:

• Albertsons (4010 A St. SE) – Auburn Riverside students on site

• Safeway 101 Auburn Way S.) – Auburn and West Auburn high students on site

• Top Foods (1702 Auburn Way N., Suite A) – Auburn Mountainview students on site

On White Cane Days, Lions Clubs throughout the Washington and Northern Idaho join forces to raise money for sight projects. Every penny of contributions the clubs collect goes to support the sight programs of the Northwest Lions Foundation.

Car wash

The four high schools will conduct a car wash from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. May 1 at Grace Community Church, 1320 Auburn Way S., to raise money for the cause.
