May I have a say about our neighborhood here at Lakeland Hills?
It’s time again to pay my yearly fee of $310 to the homeowners association in my Lakeland Hills neighborhood. And if you’re late with your payment, there’s a credit card-like penalty of $35. I really resent paying this yearly fee to this HOA. I think it’s a rip-off. And that’s simply because the association hasn’t really done anything for us, homeowners.
I’ve lived here in this neighborhood for over a decade, yet I haven’t seen any improvement done to our neighborhood. This neighborhood is supposed to be an “upgraded” community, yet the roads here are beginning to look like the gutted streets of the City of Auburn, especially at the entrance area from A street as you go up the hill. Lots of holes there.
I know those streets belong to the City, but couldn’t the HOA at least bring something to the attention of the city leaders about “fixing” those holes?
The last time I had personal contact with the staff of our HOA was to bring to their attention about “debris” from a neighbor getting blown into my front yard, driveway and front patio. The community association office manager for HOA said, “I don’t want to hear what you have to say.” Then one of her assistants added that if I have “neighbor problems,” then I should move out of the neighborhood and live in an area where I wouldn’t have any “neighbors around me.”
Thank you for hearing what I have to say about my neighborhood.
