Semi-trucks traveling eastbound with loaded trailers collided on Highway 18 Tuesday night, causing a rollover accident that put one driver in an Auburn hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Firefighters from the Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to the accident on Highway 18 at Auburn Way South at 8:49 p.m. The trucks hit each other side-to-side, one truck rolling onto its side on the off-ramp to Auburn Way South, the other wrecked on the on-ramp to Highway 18 from Auburn Way South, the VRFA said.
The VRFA transported one driver to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. The other driver was not injured.
The Department of Transportation and the Department of Ecology were requested because of the spillage of fuel and oil from both vehicles. One truck was carrying potting soil, the other perishable items.
