Locals look forward to 3,000 job openings at the Puyallup Fair

Locals count on The Puyallup Fair for 3,000 annual jobs, and this year’s Fair, Sept. 11-27, is no different. Hiring will begin on Wednesday, Aug. 12, and will run through Sept. 25.

Seasonal jobs are available in a variety of departments such as food service, retail sales, game and booth operators, barn workers and much more. Wages begin at $8.55 per hour, with some paying more based on duties and skills required.

Applicants must apply in person, Monday – Friday only from 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m.; and 1-4 p.m. The WorkSource Employment Office on the north side of the facility (9th Avenue Southwest between 4th Street Southwest and 5th Street Southwest) will begin accepting applicants on Aug. 12.

To qualify, perspective employees must be at least 16 years old and be able to provide picture ID as well as proof of legal right to work, such as a social security card or alien registration card. The Fair will not accept applicants by phone or e-mail.

The Puyallup Fair first started in 1900. The Pacific Northwest tradition is one of the top 10 fairs in the world in attendance, and features big name entertainment, the PRCA Rodeo, rides, exhibits, food, flowers, and animals.
