Auburn police responded to the following calls for service, among many others, between July 27 and Aug. 2:
July 27
Shoplifting: 11:13 a.m., 1519 Auburn Way S. Police arrested a man for trying to swipe 13 women’s swimsuit bottoms from Goodwill by stuffing them into the dark depths of his own underpants.
Theft of motorcycle: 6:42 p.m., 702 M St. SE. Somebody stole a black Harley Davidson Motorcycle from the Eagles Club. Police did not disclose a value for the bike.
Theft from motor vehicle: 9:20 p.m., 1269 Supermall Way SW. A man told police that somebody smashed his truck window and stole a GPS unit while he was inside the SuperMall. Police did not disclose a value for the unit.
July 28
Vandalism: 12:35 a.m., 12401 Southeast 320th St. A vandal took out his frustrations on a Metro bus shelter at Green River College, inflicting $600 worth of damage on it.
Commercial burglary: 8 a.m., 902 Auburn Way N. An employee of Auburn Sports Marine reported several recent attempts to enter a locked, fenced area filled with new boats and equipment.
Theft: Overnight, 600 block of Auburn Way N. Somebody stole a CD player from a vehicle. Police did not disclose a value for the damages.
Theft: 7:30 p.m., 1101 Supermall Way SW. Somebody stole a GPS unit from a vehicle parked at the SuperMall. Police did not disclose a value for the loss.
July 29
Theft: 1:07 a.m., 2402 Auburn Way S. Somebody stole a briefcase from a vehicle parked at the Muckleshoot Casino.
Aug. 1
Vandalism: 8:59 a.m., 2500 block of D Street Southeast. A woman told police that somebody smashed her vehicle’s passenger window. Police did not disclose the amount of the loss.
Trespassing: 11:30 a.m., 4000 A St. SE. A man who police told last October to remove himself and stay away from Albertsons brought his unwanted self back anyway, netting himself a police citation.
Trespassing: 12:22 p.m., 31000 block of 124th Place Southeast. Police told a guy who’d harassed his neighbors that he needed to stay away.
Disorderly conduct: 1:08 p.m., 2300 Dogwood St. SE. Police cited a male transient for disorderly conduct for blocking a sidewalk to passersby.
Theft: 1:57 p.m., 2790 Auburn Way S. A woman stole some flora and fauna from a local business flower bed and refused to put the product back when a police officer told her to do so. The officer cited her upon the business owner’s decision to press charges.
Theft: 3 p.m., 1101 Supermall Way SW. Police arrested a woman for taking scissors from the Lane Bryant store. Nobody could find the item, but police arrested the scissor thief based upon positive identification.
Theft: 6:30 p.m., 1500 block of B Street Southeast. Somebody stole a green Mongoose “Pit Crew” bicycle. Police did not disclose a value for the loss.
Aug. 2
Theft: 8:59 a.m., 1300 block of 22nd Street Southeast. A woman told police that somebody opened her unlocked vehicle and stole her gym bag full of medications.
Theft: 9:35 a.m., 9:35 a.m., 12000 Southeast 304th St. Sometime over the weekend a person, or persons, unknown, stole parts of a fire hydrant.
Vandalism: Overnight, 220 15th St. NE. A vehicle drove through the drive-through at Dairy Queen, broke a light and drove away.
Shoplifting: 12 p.m., 1425 Supermall Way SW. An employee of Walmart pursued a shoplifter who had concealed two knives and several T-shirts and walked out of the store. The chase ended when the suspect threw the stolen items at the employee and ran off. Police looked but couldn’t find the guy.
Theft: 11:51 p.m., 20 block of 15th Street Northeast. Somebody stole a backpack containing $1,000 in cash, several credit cards and a number of personal ID cards from the cab of a tractor-trailer parked at an AM/PM. The backpack was found in the bushes nearby with only $300 missing.
