A 28-year-old Auburn man was shot in the abdomen at the Days Inn on D Street in Auburn during the early morning hours of Tuesday, March 4.
Valley Regional Fire Authority personnel transported the man to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he remained in stable condition as of late Tuesday afternoon.
According to police, the unidentified man had entered a hotel room at about 12:40 a.m. where he met with two men and a woman. An altercation broke out immediately, and at least one shot was fired. After jumping from or being throw out of the motel room window, the man made his way to the motel lobby, where he called 911.
When police arrived, all of the suspects were gone.
As of late Tuesday, police still could not say why the victim met with the suspects at the motel. Detectives wrote a search warrant for the motel room and were to serve it Tuesday.
“There are no suspects in custody at this time, but we are working leads to identify them,” Auburn Police Commander Mike Hirman said in a release.
