Man shot in Auburn parking lot

Police located the suspect.

At 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, Auburn police were dispatched to the 1800 block of Howard Road where they found a man had been shot at least once.

According to police, prior to the shooting, the victim and his friend were standing in a parking lot when a vehicle pulled up to the pair. A man in the car spoke with the victim before shooting him and driving off, according to the Auburn Police Department.

Police say the friend of the victim was apparently seen trying to get rid of a gun, which was later recovered by police. It is not clear if this was the same gun that was used to shoot the victim.

The shooting victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries, according to police.

Police located the man who they suspect committed the shooting on Tuesday by Renton police on State Route 167.
