2. Fighting drug abuse by setting up committees to brainstorm the issues and how to reduce it and find funds for it and then do it.

3. Failure of businesses downtown, intends to end the policy the City has of buying real estate from businesses without providing the opportunity of a new good location to operate their business. new beautiful buildings to promote business. I will encourage safe night life such as theaters and restaurants.

• On balancing the budget: “I won’t know until I get in there and see the entire budget. I am going to go in there and pull the employees together and see what the actual figures are and see where we can save money … One area to cut would be all the furniture going into the (Auburn Professional Plaza) building and remodeling the current City Hall. I would put all of that on hold. Hopefully the mayor won’t have all the furniture ordered before I can get in there.”

• On downtown redevelopment: “People would like to see the City working on the history of Auburn instead of seeing businesses being mowed down and run out in the name of big development.”
