A motorcyclist sustained serious injuries early Monday evening after he collided with a small pickup in downtown Auburn.

Firefighters and paramedics from the Valley Regional Fire Authority arrived at the intersection of Auburn Avenue and East Main Street at 6:50 p.m. and found a man with serious injuries to his left leg. Following basic and advanced life support treatment, the man, who had been wearing a helmet, was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The driver of the pickup was not injured.
