Motorcycle crash hospitalizes two Auburn residents

Motorcycle struck puddle of water on Interstate 5 and lost control

A single-vehicle motorcycle collision Sept. 2 in Seattle resulted in the hospitalizations of two Auburn residents.

First responders transported a 53-year-old Auburn man and 48-year-old Auburn woman to Harborview Medical Center for injuries suffered in the collision, which took place about 1 p.m.

According to the Washington State Patrol, as the motorcycle traveled northbound on Interstate 5 at the convention center, it struck a puddle of water and lost control, flipping and ejecting both riders.

The motorcycle arrived at a stop on the right shoulder.

The collision resulted in roadway blockages for 2 hours and 16 minutes.

Investigation continues into the cause of the collision.
