The Municipal League is seeking volunteers to serve on its Candidate Evaluation Committees, comprised of dedicated citizens of diverse backgrounds, ages and political beliefs who evaluate candidates running for local offices in King County.

The League is a volunteer-driven, non-partisan, nonprofit organization that has worked to ensure good government that is open, effective and accountable since 1910.

The program provides the region’s only independent, non-partisan, non-agenda driven evaluation of candidates for public office. The ratings attempt to answer a fundamental question for voters: How well could the candidate do the job?

Volunteers will be asked to dedicate a few weeknights in June and July to research, interview and rate candidates. Volunteers also will be required to refrain from active involvement in campaigns or political parties during the election season and must step aside from the ratings process if they have connections to any candidate in any particular race.

Volunteer applications are due June 3, and may be submitted online at www.munileague.org.
