After hearing news of Powerball coming to Washington, Charles Cor and his wife Cheryl decided to try their luck at the game. At the last minute they decided to pick up a few Hit 5 tickets too.

It’s a good thing they did.

Later that evening, they were at the grocery store and checked their tickets to see if they’d won. They didn’t hit it big with Powerball, but they did win $120,000 playing

Hit 5.

Charles said he checked his ticket four times and even then had to ask Cheryl to double check to make sure he wasn’t dreaming and that it was a winner.

“She wanted to scream,” Charles said of her reaction.

Of course, there was a little disappointment they didn’t hit it the Powerball, “being the ever greedy person I am,” Charles said with a laugh.

All joking aside, the couple are extremely happy and says they had a sleepless night the evening they found out.

The couple hasn’t had too much time to think about what they will do with the money but says it comes at a great time since Cheryl will be out of work in a few weeks. They plan on paying off some bills and tucking some away for retirement.

Charles and Cheryl bought the $120,000 winning Hit 5 ticket at Circle K on Auburn Way. For selling the winning ticket, Circle K will receive a retail selling bonus of $1,200.
