Fire department personnel have been assisting South County Cats with humanly trapping a colony of feral cats at Mountain View Fire & Rescue, Station 95.
The nine adult cats that have been trapped so far will get spayed/neutered, shots, then will return back to Station 95. Personnel also trapped three kittens, which will be put into foster homes and available for adoption at the King County Animal Shelter in Kent.
The feral cats live on fire department property and volunteers help feed them, but the colony grew substantially this year.
“We are so thankful for South County Cats for helping us capture, transport and payment for the spay/neuter for these animals,” said Tim Perciful, public information officer for King County Fire District 44.
South County Cats coordinated with King County Animal Shelter for foster care of the kittens. They also help with transportation and payment to Pasado’s Spay Station to vaccinate, and spay/neuter the adult cats.
