Pacific City Park closed for season, will reopen April 1

The City of Pacific closed Pacific City Park for the winter on Tuesday. The park is closed every year from Oct. 1 to April 1 to facilitate the placing of HESCO barriers – used to control flooding – across the entrances to the park. More than 4,000 linear feet of barriers were placed in Pacific after the 2009 floods, to help channel any floodwaters into the park.

Neighborhoods bordering the White River – which flows through the park – were flooded during a U.S. Corps Engineers water release from Mud Mountain Dam in 2009.

The park is located at 600 3rd Ave. SE.
