Auburn noodle lovers have a new option with the grand opening of Pho & Grill at 4025 A St. SE.

Formerly The Mongolian Grill, the restaurant features build-your-own Mongolian stir-fry buffet from noon to 9 p.m., with the added attraction of Vietnamese cuisine, including Pho and sandwiches.

Often referred to as the national dish of Vietnam, Pho (pronounced fuh) – commonly consisting of rice noodles, chicken or beef, Thai basil, mint leaves, bean sprouts and lime in broth – is thought to have originated in Hanoi in the early 20th century as a way to please Vietnamese and French colonialist palates.

At Pho & Grill, the menu provides options like steak, brisket, meatballs, chicken and tripe, as well as vegetarian and tofu Pho versions.

In addition to providing a warm meal that is relief from Washington’s harsh autumn days, Pho & Grill provides a little relief on the pocket book, with all of the restaurant’s entrees priced under $10.

The restaurant is open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily with Mongolian grill items available after noon.
