Gallery hours are based upon building activity.

An artist reception is next Thursday, Sept. 17, from 5:30-7 p.m. at the historic theater, 10 Auburn Ave.

Photographing Auburn showcases original artwork depicting the people and places of Auburn.

Nine photographers – Lela Brugger, Dwayne Goodrow, Steve LePenske, Kathy Lewis, Dan Norman, Lynn Norman, Jim Oliver, Cheri Wicklund and Jan Wieser – submitted artwork ranging from majestic landscapes to whimsical portraiture all captured in and around Auburn.

“The photographer’s eye often reveals unexpected, sometimes dazzling, views of the ordinary, the unusual, the exotic and the mundane,” said Nancy Olson, Auburn Arts commission chairperson. “We’re hoping for a fresh look at Auburn that will celebrate who we are as a community.”

Photographing Auburn is presented by Parks, Arts & Recreation and City of Auburn Arts Commission’s whose purpose is to foster the growth of the arts in Auburn through the presentation of various arts programs, community initiatives and program partnerships.
