Kindergarten students in Ruby Chock and Ray Stinson’s classes at Pioneer Elementary School recently made and launched stomp rockets. It was all part of the classes’ yearlong interest in astronomy that incorporated science, math and physics into the classroom.
Students learned the names of stars, planets, constellations
and nebula. They ended the school year by making and launching rockets by using a bottle filled with air.
Kindergartner Emily Jones, right, is not too sure about her rocket even with the help of her mother Wendy.
