March 24

Caught in mid-burgle: 3:40 a.m., 1200 block of 37th Street Northwest. The owner of a local business interrupted a burglary in process, and the suspect fled the scene of his wrong-doing, apparently with nothing to show for his trouble.

March 23

Stolen property: 7:32 a.m., 800 block of 10th Street Northeast. Police arrested a guy at the Valencia Apartments for possessing drug paraphernalia and a stolen car. The suspect also had felony warrants against his name from the City of Bellingham. Police also arrested the man’s wife for possessing a stolen car and obstructing justice.

Shoplifting: 1:24 p.m., 1416 Harvey Road N.E. A male – maybe young, maybe old, police didn’t say – stole unknown goods from Walgreens and fled in a two-door white car.

Controlled substance: 5:19 p.m., 1400 block of B Street Northwest. Police arrested a woman for possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

Swindle: 9 p.m., 2402 Auburn Way S. A flim-flam man chiseled his mark by pulling the old switcharoo during a bogus back-alley diamond deal.

Assault: 1302 8th St. N.E. Police arrested a guy for assault after he argued with his girlfriend and threw soda all over her at a 7-11.

March 21

Arson: 7:45 a.m., 1825 K St. S.E. Unknown persons set a 60-foot-tall cedar tree on fire at Olympic Middle School.

Assault: 11:15 a.m., 800 4th St. N.E. Police arrested an Auburn High School student for assaulting three fellow students and a teacher.

Shoplifting: 1:56 p.m., 1101 Supermall Way S.W. Police arrested a guy for stealing a shirt from Burlington Coat Factory.
