Auburn police responded

to the following calls for service between June 11 and May 28:

JUNE 11

Assault: 5:44 p.m., 400 block of Auburn Way North. While a man in his car was arguing with a motorcyclist, an unknown man pulled the dude from his car and punched him in the face.

JUNE 10

Theft: 7:26 a.m., 11000 block of Southeast 295th Street. A person or persons unknown swiped GPS units from two motor vehicles parked in front of their owner’s home. No value was given for the purloined items.

Trespassing: 1:25 a.m., 1521 D St. N.E. Somebody spotted a man inside a room that no one had rented, but he fled before employees could contact him. He returned to the motel and was arrested as the occupant of the room no one had rented. Police charged him with theft since he had smoked in that room that was designated non smoking for persons who might choose to occupy it lawfully, causing management to lose potential income until said room could be cleaned at the motel’s expense.

Theft from vehicle: Overnight, 1500 block of 22nd Street Northwest. A man reported that someone popped the locks on his Sylvania work truck and stole all of his work and personal tools. No value was given.

Assault: 7 p.m., 6200 block of Hazel Avenue Southeast. Boyfriend and girlfriend argue, girlfriend slaps boyfriend, girlfriend slices seat covers in boyfriend’s vehicle, girlfriend gets busted.

JUNE 9

Burglary: 6:30 a.m., 800 4th St. N.E. Burglars burgled several classrooms at Auburn High School of items undefined between June 6 and June 9.

Shoplifting: 11:30 a.m., 1101 Supermall Way: Police arrested a man for trying to walk away with shoes from the Burlington Coat Factory without first bothering to pay for them.

JUNE 8

Theft: 7:14 p.m., 1101 Supermall Way. An employee of Rain or Shine at the Supermall allegedly stole an undisclosed amount of money from the cash drawer.

JUNE 7

Attempted burglary: Overnight, 3100 block of M Street Southeast. Somebody tried to force open a locked screen door by cutting the screen and prying the sliding glass part open. Didn’t work.

MAY 28

Burglary: Overnight, 4200 block of A Street Southeast. Persons unknown entered the secured parking lot of Thoroughbred Collision by cutting a small hole in the southwest corner of the chain link fence, then swiped a number of undisclosed items from three parked vehicles.
