Police blotter | Feb. 27

Auburn police responded to the following calls for service between Feb. 21 and Feb. 24:

Feb. 21

Bomb Threat or Attack: 1 a.m., 2402 Auburn Way S. A wife extremely upset about her husband gambling away copious amounts of money phoned a bomb threat into the Muckleshoot Casino.

Feb. 22

Assault: 4:15 p.m., 4200 block of Auburn Way South. Police arrested a man for trying to choke his wife but did not disclose what happened and whether the woman was injured.

Burglary: 2:30 p.m., 1800 block of R Street Southeast. A tenant at Public Storage reported the theft of two jewelry boxes from his unit. Police did not disclose a value for the missing items.

Feb. 23

Kidnapping: 4:54 p.m., 1200 block of Auburn Way North. A male fondled and tried to abduct a 2-year-old girl when the mother turned her back on the child while they were shopping at the Dollar Tree. The pervert fled from the store with patrons in hot pursuit and tried to escape the area in his tan sports utility vehicle but police caught up with him. The child was not harmed.

Assault: 9:15 a.m., 100 block of 41st Street Southeast. One guy assaulted another. Police didn’t say if anybody was injured or indeed, anything else about the assault.

Feb. 24

Shoplifting: 12:39 p.m., 101 Auburn Way S. Police arrested a man for trying to steal Similac baby food and a lobster tail from Safeway.

Burglary: 1:56 p.m., 1700 block of K Street Southeast. There was some sort of burglary somewhere involving perhaps burgled items and likely some burglars, but police preferred not to say anything at all about it.

Shoplifting: 3:21 p.m., 200 block of E Main St. Police arrested a woman for shoplifting something of some value. Whether said item was a candy bar, a stick of gum or a pair of jockey shorts, this is and must remain a closely held police secret.

Shoplifting: 6:09 p.m., 101 Auburn Way N. Police arrested a man and a boy for shoplifting, but preferred not to say what they stole or how much it was worth.

Assault: 4:44 p.m., 300 block of R Street Northeast. Police arrested a man for assaulting his ex-girlfriend. Police didn’t say if the woman was injured.

Disorderly conduct: 8:28 p.m., 2800 block of Auburn Way North. Police arrested a man for urinating in public.

Theft of vehicle parts: 3:30 p.m., 6200 block of Terrace View Lane Southeast. Somebody broke the driver’s side passenger window on a vehicle of undisclosed make, stole a man’s GPS and removed part of his Fort Lewis decal. Police didn’t disclose a value.

Burglary: 7 a.m., 501 Oravetz Road S.E. Somebody stole a projector from a portable classroom at Auburn Riverside High School. The burglar got in through a window.

Strong arm robbery: 10:26 a.m., 401 15th St. N.E. Somebody stole an unknown amount of money from a bank. Police decided not to offer up any other details.

Pornography: 1:36 p.m., 28000 block of 124th Avenue Southeast. Police arrested somebody at Mountainview High School for some incident connected with some sort of pornography but decided not to say anything else about it.
