Police blotter | Jan. 8

Auburn police responded to the following calls for service, among many others, between Dec. 30 and Jan. 4:

Dec. 30

Prowler: 10:34 a.m., 100 block of Clay Street Northwest. Some bad person wreaked some sort of malicious mischief, and police didn’t say what, upon a vehicle. Police did not disclose the amount of damages.

Theft: 9:46 a.m., 6100 block of Terrace View Lane. Persons unknown broke into two separate vehicles and stole undisclosed items. Police did not disclose a value for the undisclosed items.

Theft: 10:58 a.m., 800 block of 44th Street Northwest. An undisclosed business reported that somebody stole a company check from the mail then fraudulently cashed it an undisclosed Seattle business. Police did not disclose the amount of the loss.

Jan. 2

Fraud: 2 p.m., 3600 block of I Street Northeast. A woman reported that on Christmas eve some wrong doer somewhere attempted to complete a bogus transaction using her checking account.

Jan. 3

Assault: 4:39 p.m., 500 block of M Street Southeast. A person or several persons beat a man unconscious, then drove him to a second location where they abandoned him after taking his vehicle.

Jan. 4

Trespassing: 5:56 p.m., 2402 Auburn Way S. Apparently “stay away” wasn’t good enough for one man, because despite the aforesaid warning, he showed his person again at the Muckleshoot Casino and got himself arrested for so doing.

Vandalism: 10:40 p.m., 1425 Supermall Way. A female, no general age given, reported that persons she didn’t know smashed the rear window and both tail lights of her car while it was parked in the Walmart parking lot. Police did not disclose the amount of damages.

Burglary: 8:30 a.m., 5141 Auburn Way N. Some unknown person cut a lock into a parking lot then tried to steal a lift gate from a canopy sometime between Jan. 2 and Jan. 4. This person also stole a silver diamond plate tool box. Police did not disclose a value.

Shoplifting: 11:38 a.m., 101 Auburn Way S. A male – young, old, in between, who knows – tried to shoplift groceries from Safeway. Police did not disclose a value.
