Police blotter | June 12

Auburn Police responded to the following calls for service between June 7 and June 9:

June 7

Theft: 8:46 a.m., 200 block of M Street Southeast. No details given other than that somebody possessed burglary tools.

Burglary: Overnight, 516 4th St. N.E. An unknown suspect entered the Auburn High School Pool building after hours, inflicting $300 damage on a vending machine and the cash register while inside. The loss to theft was $830.75.

Vandalism: 11:29 a.m., 3700 block of R Street Southeast. Subjects unknown vandalized somebody’s property in some way and stole some of the undisclosed property.

Vandalism: Overnight, 2400 block of Auburn Way South. A man reported that somebody slashed all four of his tires.

DUI alchohol or drugs: 8:44 p.m., 2800 block of M Street Northeast. Police arrested a man for DUI and hit and run after several witnesses saw him drive his vehicle, strike another car and drive away. The man drove home, whereupon another group of witnesses flagged officers and told them that the guy had been driving recklessly on their street just prior to contact. They pointed to where the vehicle was parked and police arrested the guy. ‘

Robbery with firearm: 10 p.m., 2400 Auburn Way S. A man told police that another male wearing a ski mask approached him, fired a gun into the air and demanded his wallet.

June 9

Theft: 7:37 p.m., 400 block of 37th St. SE. A juvenile male was arrested for stealing his grandmother’s debit card and using it at a local grocery store. The debit card was located and returned to the victim.

Uneasy rider: 4:11 p.m., 3300 block of I St. NE. A man was contacted by police for not wearing a bicycle helmet while riding. The man gave a false name and was found to have a King County warrant for his arrest.

Found in possession: 2:59 p.m., 101 Auburn Way S. A female was arrested on an outside agency warrant. A search incident to arrest

produced drug paraphernalia. She was booked into the Auburn Jail.

Strong arm robbery: 6:53 p.m., 1406 Lake Tapps Parkway E. A 15-year-old boy was arrested for robbery after he fought with store management to retain the items he had shoplifted. There were no injuries. The subject was booked into the Auburn Jail, then released to his father after booking.

Stolen car: 8:34 p.m., Green River Community College. A black 1987 Toyota 4-Runner was stolen from the school’s parking lot.

Vandalism: 9:11 p.m., 700 West Valley Highway South. A citizen reported vehicles parked at the Peasley Canyon Park and Ride had been vandalized. The vehicle owners could not be located.
