Auburn police responded to the following calls for service between March 1 and Feb. 26:
March 1
Assault: 1:10 p.m., 1100 block of 26th Street Southeast. Police arrested a man for assaulting his ex-girlfriend, and interfering with a 911 call by pulling the wires out of the phone when she called the police. The woman thought the man had run out the back of the residence, but police found him cowering in her mother’s bedroom closet.
Theft from vehicle: 12:43 p.m., 2300 block M Street Northeast. Thieves unknown broke into somebody’s vehicle and stole $2,104 worth of miscellaneous tools.
Feb. 28
Traffic offense: 8:56 a.m., 5000 block of Lakeland Hills Way Southeast. Police saw a woman driving through curves on Lakeland Hills Way at a high rate of speed into the oncoming traffic lane. The woman refused to yield to a police vehicle with lights flashing and siren keening. She continued northbound on A Street Southeast to a veterinary clinic where she left her car despite a police order to stop. The woman, clearly upset, was carrying a small dog. She ran into the building where the officer allowed her to turn over the dog for treatment. The officer arrested her and booked her for reckless driving. The dog is recovering and doing well.
Burglary: 5 a.m., 29600 block of Green River Road Southeast. A group of bad guys burglarized the Copper Falls restaurant and stole several fifths of vodka.Surveillance cameras revealed four possible juveniles committed the crime, but the burglars wore masks.
Feb. 27
Fraud: 12:48 p.m., 2800 block of Auburn Way North. A woman received a check for a secret shopper program. But when she tried to cash the check, she learned it was a fake, a sham, a fraud.
Strong arm robbery: 1 p.m., 2900 Auburn Way South. An Auburn youth reported that four subjects assaulted him and stole his laptop while he was waiting at a bus stop.
Assault: 1 p.m., 1200 block of 30th Street Southeast. One boy fired multiple shots at another boy before fleeing the scene in a vehicle. Police didn’t say if the intended victim was actually struck or hurt or anything like that.
Theft: 8:48 p.m., 1000 block of 24th Street Northeast. While two juveniles of mysterious, undisclosed gender attended some sort of after-school function, several unknown persons swiped from them a cell phone a skateboard.
Feb. 26
Theft from car: 9 a.m., 10 block of 5th Street Northeast. Somebody broke the driver’s side window of vehicle and swiped a satellite radio worth an amount police declined to disclose.
Vandalism: 9:55 a.m., 100 block of 5th Street Northeast. Somebody unknown broke into a vehicle of undisclosed make and stole nothing.
Burglary: Overnight, 1200 Supermall Way S.W. Somebody or several somebodies burglarized a trailer at a Supermall job site of 9300 feet of copper wire, seven tools, five copper grounding rods and several high-end drill bits. Police did not disclose a value.
Assault: 9:30 a.m., 1100 block of 57th Drive Southeast. A parent came to Auburn Riverside High School to report that her children had gotten into a fight at her home.
Theft: 12:05 p.m., 1700 block of Auburn Way North. Somebody stole a cell phone from a display table while its owner was selling T-shirts.
False information giver: 12:01 p.m., 800 block of 12th Street Northeast. A man with a history of unnecessary 911 calls made another unnecessary 911 call.
Weapons offense: 2 p.m., 1800 block of M Street Southeast. A woman told police she had found a bullet hole in the door of her vehicle.
Theft from vehicle: 5:34 p.m., 1800 block of Auburn Way North. A woman called to report that somebody stole most of the electronic components from her vehicle while it was being repaired in Renton and Auburn between Oct. 1, 2008 and Feb. 26, 2009. There are no suspects.
