Police blotter | Oct. 9

Auburn police responded to the following calls for service, among many others, between Oct. 4 and Oct. 5:

Oct. 4

Theft from vehicle: 10 a.m., 1900 block of 19th Place Southeast. Somebody stole a Springfield XD-40 subcompact gun from an unlocked vehicle. Police did not disclose a value.

Theft of vehicle: 31800 block of 102nd Avenue Southeast. A resident reported that somebody stole his 30-foot-long travel trailer from his front yard. Police did not disclose a value.

DUI alcohol or drugs: 10:25 p.m., 2402 Auburn Way S. Police arrested a woman for DUI at the Muckleshoot Casino after she drove her car over the curb at the valet shack.

Burglary of business: 10:55 p.m, 521 8th St. SW. Somebody unlawfully entered a warehouse through roll-up bay doors, but a responding employee could not tell if the intruder had actually stolen anything once inside.

Oct. 5

Burglary: 6:50 a.m., 5015 Auburn Way N. An unknown suspect forced his or her way into Lil Miss Java, but it wasn’t clear if the intruder took anything.

Burglary: 6:36 a.m., 620 37th St. SE. Sometime over the weekend somebody, or several somebodies, broke into portable 903 at Mt. Baker Middle School and stole a Hitachi LCD projector and an AverVision Document camera. The suspect, or suspects, got in by breaking out a window.

ID theft: 12900 block of Southeast 301st Street. A woman reported that someone in Minnesota had been using her Social Security number. Police did not disclose the amount of damages.

Theft of property: 12:50 a.m. During a thievery attempt at Auburn Mountainview High School, somebody removed several electrical box covers and cut several wires but was only able to pull a single wire.

Theft: 1 p.m., 20 block of M Street Northeast. A woman reported that somebody had stolen a laptop computer from her home. Police did not disclose a value.

Vandalism: 3:14 p.m., 31900 block of 120th Place Southeast. Somebody, or several somebodies, vandalized somebody else’s fence in some way resulting in some damages that made somebody angry.

Theft: 5:28 p.m., L Street Southeast. A woman reported her suspicion that between Sept. 1 and Oct. 1, a relative of her late husband swiped his death certificate, her children’s birth certificates, her marriage certificate to her new husband and his tools along with several VCR/DVD movies and Wii games. The relative had been visiting with the family for two months, and the woman discovered the theft along with telltale local pawn slips for movies and TV games only after he had left.

Vandalism: 8:36 p.m., 3400 block of D Street Southeast. A man told police that three kids on bikes had hurled a rock at his car window, shattering it.

Bogus bill: 6:52 p.m, 2790 Auburn Way S. A clerk reported that a female had passed a jive $10 bill at an AM/PM mini mart.
