Police blotter | Sept. 18

Auburn police responded to the following calls for service, among many others, between Sept. 13 and Sept. 15:

Sept. 13

Obstructing justice: 11 a.m., 31700 block of 125th Place Southeast. Police found a man with a confirmed arrest warrant for domestic violence out of Federal Way hiding in an upstairs closet in a southend home, so they promptly arrested him. Police also arrested a woman for rendering criminal assistance to the guy in the closet.

Theft: 4:40 p.m., 1102 Auburn Way S. An Auburn resident — man, woman, child, police didn’t say — told police that an unknown person stole his or her laptop computer when he or she stepped away from it for a few minutes while in a public building.

Cops helping cops: 9:12 p.m., 600 block of F Street Southeast. Auburn officers helped the Washington State Patrol arrest a man and a boy for throwing objects at cars passing by on Highway 18.

Sept. 14

Burglary: Overnight, 535 15th St. NE. Somebody smashed a window at the Firestone Tire store, slithered in and swiped an undisclosed sum of coins from the register.

Burglary: 6 a.m., 116 Clay St. NW. Between Sept. 12 and Sept. 14, somebody, or several somebodies, entered A Plus Removal and Recycling through a warehouse door and stole 600 pounds of recycled hard drives, 200 pounds of copper, 100 pounds of aluminum and a pallet jack. Police did not disclose a value.

Burglary: 2:05 p.m., 500 Auburn Way S. Police arrested a local transient for aggressive begging after he was seen at a busy intersection popular with beggars, trying to persuade passing drivers to part with some of their money.

Vandalism: 3:02 p.m., 1000 block of 12th Street Northeast. Somebody painted graffiti on a home.

Shoplifting: 2:14 p.m., 1400 block of Supermall Way Southwest. Walmart Asset Protection Associates caught a woman shoplifting clothing from the Auburn

Walmart store and police arrested her. Walmart previously had barred the thief from its stores for like activities.

Shoplifting: 4:15 p.m., 1702 Auburn Way N. A man walked into the north-end Top Food and Drugs, filled a shopping cart with undisclosed stuff and tried to flee, but store security put an end to his unlawful activity and police soon showed up to arrest him and carry him away.

Obstructing justice: 10:02 p.m., 2800 block of Riverwalk Drive. Police arrested a male person for making false statements and because his name was on a warrant. Police contacted the guy after he jumped from a moving car.

Sept. 15

Theft: 8:36 a.m., 2100 block of 1st Street Northeast. Some thief stole fishing poles and a lawnmower off their owner’s porch. Police did not disclose a value.
