Maple Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra has opened registration for its Summer Music Camp.

The camp run daily 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Aug. 13-17 at Maple Valley Presbyterian Church, 22659 Sweeney Road SE.

A concert is set for 7:30 p.m. Aug. 17.

This year’s theme is “Out Of This World.” They will be studying music from Sci Fi movies.

The camp welcomes students with nine months music experience through the most advanced students. Students with less music experience will have a specialized program running simultaneously during the camp. They also will have a coach who is specially trained to help them succeed. More advanced students will be challenged by large group and ensemble pieces.

Cost is $45. There is a $5 optional lunch available.
