Vogel received his keepsake last week, a gift from the Auburn student body. Vogel, who volunteers with the Trojan football and basketball teams, was honored with an honorary degree from the school in June.
He was also a counselor for at-risk youth at the same time that he manufactured and sold drugs.
City has 40 projects in the works.
He received nearly 16 years in prison while his codefendant awaits trial.
