A City street reconstruction project will replace deteriorated pavement on several local streets throughout Auburn.

Construction begins Monday, Aug. 7 at 28th Street SE, east of R Street SE and on R Street SE between 25th Street SE and 28th Street SE.

The initial construction activities require closure of northbound R Street SE between 25th and 28th Street SE, while work is taking place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. a signed detour will be in place.

Construction on 28th Street SE will require closure of the roadway with local access only.

The project will also replace utilities and improve pedestrian accessibility where needed. The project construction is anticipated to be ongoing through early November.

Access to residences within the project area will be maintained during construction but delays should be expected. Please use caution and pay close attention to police officers, flaggers and construction sign directions.
