Pacific Kobudo martial arts offers a women’s safety and self-defense class on Feb. 7, from 1-4 p.m.

Women who attend will learn physical self-defense techniques and strategies that can help them in escaping, controlling, avoiding and evading dangerous situations.

“Women who have attended this workshop previously have come back to me to say these techniques have helped them. That’s great proof to show that it really works,” said Tony Whetstine, instructor and owner. “Restoring confidence to women who have previously been battered or assaulted, as well as increasing any women’s personal empowerment is what makes this class so important and rewarding for me to teach it.”
