The Cleveland Browns’ Danny Shelton, a former Auburn High and University of Washington star, is back in town this brief NFL offseason to reunite with family and friends.
Shelton, coming off his rookie season with the Browns, appeared at Friday night’s Auburn-Auburn Riverside basketball game and dropped by Way Scarff Ford on Saturday to greet fans and sign autographs.
The Browns drafted Shelton 12th overall in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft and signed the 6-foot-2, 330-pound lineman to a four-year deal worth $11.7 million.
Shelton had 21 tackles in 11 games his rookie season.
“It’s not anywhere close to what I’ve been expecting out of myself. I want to produce more,” Shelton said. “Part of that is part of the game, and sometimes you don’t get what you want, you don’t make the plays you want, but your teammates make those plays. That’s what I’m learning and that’s what I’m working with.”
