Gun brandishing

Auburn police responded on Feb. 22 at approximately 9:34 a.m. after receiving a report of a felony harassment incident. According to the department’s public information log, a gun brandishing was reported in the 200 block of A Street Southeast. The incident involved an unidentified suspect and one victim. According to the department’s log, the gun brandishing had occurred earlier in the day, between 7:53 a.m. and 7:55 a.m.

Street racing at the elementary school

Auburn police responded on Feb. 24 to Bowman Creek Elementary in the 5700 block of Kersey Way Southeast. The department’s special investigations unit ran a “racer emphasis” on a meetup for racers at the elementary school, according to the department. According to the department’s public information log, officers arrested subjects for street racing and trespassing at the elementary school. According to the department’s social media, police arrested a total of 11 individuals for racing and trespassing and towed two vehicles. No damages resulted from the incident.

Aggravated assault

Auburn police responded on Feb. 22 after receiving a report at approximately 8:53 a.m. regarding an aggravated assault in the 200 block of D Street Southeast at an apartment complex unit. According to the department’s public information log, a verbal and physical assault had taken place. The log listed additional offenses of misdemeanor vandalism and misdemeanor child abuse. The department’s log listed one suspect and two victims. According to the log, police developed probable cause to charge the suspect with assault in the second degree.

Robbery involving firearms

Auburn police responded on Feb. 21 after receiving a report at approximately 2:18 p.m. regarding a robbery involving firearms in the 2200 block of Auburn Way North. According to the department’s public information log, an armed robbery had occurred targeting a convenience store chain location that resulted in $350 in cash being stolen. The department’s log identified no suspects in the incident. The offending vehicle was a white 2017 Mercedes-Benz with a Washington license plate.

Strong-arm robbery

Auburn police responded on Feb. 20 after receiving a report at approximately 6:06 p.m. regarding a strong-arm robbery incident that had occurred in the 1400 block of Harvey Road Northeast targeting a pharmacy store chain location. According to the department’s public information log, police later arrested two men for the robbery in the 800 block of Auburn Way North near Fred Meyer. Police booked the men on charges of robbery in the second degree.
