The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to the following 911 calls for service between April 14 and April 21, among many others.

April 14

Overdose: (Pacific). Firefighters responded to a call that someone was found unconscious in the bathroom of a local restaurant, but arrived to find him conscious. After personnel evaluated and treated him, an ambulance motored him to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center.

April 15

Aid call: 7:39 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responded to an ill senior citizen who was complaining of a rapid heart rate. Because of her life-threatening condition, firefighters called in King County Medic One paramedics, who treated and stabilized her before a private ambulance transported her to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center.

Aid call: 12:17 a.m. (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters evaluated a senior citizen after her family expressed concern for her health. Her family then transported to Valley Medical Center’s emergency room.

April 17

Accident: 10:54 p.m. (Pacific). Firefighters responding to a two-car collision on State Route 167 found one vehicle on the left-side jersey barrier, the other off to the right side of the highway, and one driver in the custody of the Washington State Patrol. Firefighters evaluated that guy, and he remained in the WSP’s custody.

April 18

Collision: 4:48 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responded to a two-car collision, secured the scene and evaluated a woman who’d been rear-ended and was complaining of neck and back pain. An ambulance transported her to a local hospital.

April 19

Home fire: 1:26 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a residential fire near the 5500 block of South 320th Street, and finding heavy fire in the garage, used aggressive tactics to keep the flames from spreading into the home. There were no civilian injuries. South King Fire and other neighboring units lent a hand. The fire is under investigation.

April 20

Stuck elevator: 1:55 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a report of a person stuck in an elevator used department keys to recall the elevator so they could safely remove its rattled occupant. Firefighters evaluated that person because of the high-stress situation and found the person to be in good condition.
