Two older adults transported to hospital after bathroom fire in Auburn

A bathroom fire damaged a residence in the River Mobile Estates on Monday afternoon, sending two older adults to a nearby hospital with possible smoke inhalation, the Valley Regional Fire Authority reported.

A bathroom fire damaged a residence in the River Mobile Estates on Monday afternoon, sending two older adults to a nearby hospital with possible smoke inhalation, the Valley Regional Fire Authority reported.

Firefighters from the VRFA and Kent Regional Fire Authority responded to a report of a fire around 3 p.m. in the 3600 block of I Street Northeast, Auburn.

Light smoke was visible from the residence when firefighters arrived. They were able to contain the fire to the bathroom.

The adults were treated on the scene for possible smoke inhalation and transported to a local hospital by private ambulance for further evaluation.

The VRFA is on the scene to determine the cause of the fire.
