That’s 5,707 yes votes to 4,620 no.

This tally represents 10,336 votes counted, a mere 27 percent of the total pool of 38,320 voters registered within the district, but success in this election requires only a simple majority.

The levy provides six years of funding to take recommendations made by the 2013 Technology Citizens Ad Hoc Committee and set them in motion. It replaces the 2005 technology levy.

Auburn School District officials have said that with the levy’s passage, local taxpayers’ projected school tax rate would remain level.

The next update was to be at 4:30 p.m. today, after this issue had gone to press.
