Auburn Police Department calls from June 1 to June 3.

Auburn police responded

to the following calls for service

between June 3 and June 1:

June 3

Vandalism: 9:47 a.m., 1600 block of E. Main Street. Without any description beyond “unknown subjects,” we are left to wonder what was vandalized, how it was vandalized, who did the vandalizing and whether any flesh-and-blood vandal was apprehended or is still out there vandalizing things.

Fraud: 12:16 a.m., 1424 Supermall Way S.W. Police arrested a woman for trying to cash a stolen check at Verity Credit Union.

Disorderly conduct:

12:45 p.m., 400 Auburn Way N. Police arrested a male person for obstructing traffic.

Theft of purse: 2:35 p.m., 700 block of 12th Street Southeast. A female reported that her purse had been stolen from the waiting room of the Multicare office.

Auto theft: 2:19 p.m., 5000 block of Auburn Way South. Somebody stole a white Chevy pickup from the Auburn Adventist Academy.

Burglary: 3:43 p.m., 29000 block of 58th Place Southeast. Persons unknown entered a residence through a secluded garage window and, once inside, took undefined items from two separate bedrooms.

Assault: 5:11 p.m., 1200 block of 32nd Street Northeast. A sister and brother got into a fight over a computer, and the brother repeatedly punched his sister in the face and bit her arm and nose. Police sent him to jail for domestic violence.

Burglary: 7 p.m., 5800 block of Terrace View Lane. A person of undefined gender returned home to find the front door to his or her apartment broken in and a laptop and PDA missing.

Graffiti: 6:52 p.m.,

1400 block of M Street Northeast. Somebody painted graffiti on a residence.

Assault: 8:25 p.m.,

12500 block of Southeast 312th Street. A male claimed his neighbor attacked him without provocation. But according to police, the victim and his roommate are suspected of vandalizing the neighbor’s vehicles, the latest chapter in a dispute that began last August.

June 1

Vandalism: 3:55 p.m., 30000 block of 116th Street Southeast. Somebody standing on a hill behind a secured lot in the Shady Hills Estates shot down the hill with a bee-bee gun, shooting out part of the back window of a vehicle parked there. Another shot hit the metal frame, denting it.

Burglary: Overnight, 1110 Harvey Road N.E. A commercial burglary was reported at a dental office after an employee responded to an alarm, found a damaged and open window and called 911. No suspects were found inside the building. While searching the building, police found a hole that had been cut into the flooring material leading to a crawl space below.

Assault: 5:20 p.m., 2300 Emerald Downs Drive. Police arrested a male person at Emerald Downs for assaulting an employee in a bathroom.

Malicious mischief:

11:54 p.m., 20 block of U Place Northeast. Police arrested a juvenile female for domestic violence and malicious mischief after she poked holes in her stepfather’s pickup tire following an argument with him.
