Hellers is an Auburn VFW Post 1741 member and Vietnam veteran.
Volunteers and family members helped the veterans catch their share of trout. Officials estimated that more than 95 fish were caught. They also cleaned and cooked the fresh trout, providing a fried feast for veterans.
He was booked into jail on a vehicular assault investigation.
