King County Councilmember Pete von Reichbauer recently joined local leaders in officially opening Wild Waves Amusement Park for the month of July.

“During our summer months, we are lucky to have family-friendly areas, such as Wild Waves, right here in South King County’s own backyard,” von Reichbauer said.

On July 2, von Reichbauer joined Auburn Mayor Pete Lewis, Black Diamond Mayor Rebecca Olness and Wild Waves owner Jeff Stock in a ceremonial opening of the front gates.

The Federal Way park is scheduled to soon open its newest water attraction, “Riptide”. On the ride, tubers slide into and then around a giant bowl until they eventually drop through the middle into a pool of water.
