King County voters approved Mountainview Fire and Rescue Proposition 1 which restores the property tax levy to $1.50 per $1,000 of assessed value for the next five years.
This increased levy was determined by the district’s board of commissioners to be necessary in order to provide adequate medical and fire services to the community.
Mountainview Fire and Rescue serves approximately 70 square miles of south King County including Auburn, Enumclaw and the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe.
Of the 3,189 votes tallied for the measure, 53.81% approved the proposition and 46.19% rejected it, as of Wednesday, Aug. 3.
