March 30

Aid call: 8:10 a.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters treated at the scene a senior citizen who had fallen down some stairs, injuring her back. A private ambulance transported her to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC).

March 31

Car fire: 8:13 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters responding to a report of a car fire at an apartment complex in the 700 block of 4th Avenue Northeast found that the apartment manager had extinguished the fire. A VRFA fire investigator investigated the fire because its origin was suspicious.

April 1

Aid call: 6:45 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responding to the La Quinta Hotel found that a large work truck had backed up into the building, causing minor damage to the brick façade. Noting no other structural damage, firefighters left the building in control of the manager on location.

April 2

Aid call: 12:10 p.m., (Algona). Once firefighters completed their evaluation of a woman suffering severe abdominal pain, a private ambulance transported her to MAMC.

April 3

Aid call: 8:30 a.m., (Auburn). Once firefighters had splinted the ankle of an older woman who was complaining of ankle pain after a fall, they transported her to MAMC.

April 4

Aid call: 7:30 p.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters treated a toddler who had been playing with other children when he fell out of a backyard playhouse, fracturing his arm. The boy did not lose consciousness and sustained no other injuries. A private vehicle transported him to MAMC.

April 5

Residential fire: 1:53 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters dispatched to the 500 block of C Street Southwest for a deck fire found a partially extinguished fire on the third-floor deck, which had spread to the exterior of the house. When firefighters finished putting out the fire, they went to see if the fire had spread into the attic space.  No civilians or firefighters were injured. Investigators are trying to determine what caused the fire.
