The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 267 calls for service between May 30 and June 5, among them the following:
May 30
Smoke investigation: 3:12 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters arrived at the scene of reported smoke to find a homeowner burning a large stump and yard debris. Firefighters advised the man of burning laws and helped him put out the fire.
May 31
Aid call: 10:10 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters and King County Medics assessed a young woman who had suffered a seizure, and medics transported her to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC).
June 1
Vehicle on pedestrian: 9:15 p.m., (South Auburn). Firefighters and King County Medics freed a woman who’d been trapped under a car, evaluated her, and Airlift Northwest transported her to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
June 2
Aid call: 7:57 a.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters evaluated a woman who was complaining of dizziness, and a private ambulance transported her to St. Francis Hospital.
June 3
Kitchen fire: 8:27 p.m., (Lea Hill). Having responded as mutual aid with Kent Regional Fire Authority to a reported grease fire in a home, firefighters treated one homeowner, a young man, for smoke inhalation and arm burns he’d sustained extinguishing the fire. A private ambulance transported the man to Valley Medical Center. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
June 4
Accident: 1:27 a.m., (Pacific). Firefighters and King County Medics responded to a one-car rollover accident on Highway 167, where they extricated and treated one man, and a VRFA aid unit transported him to MAMC.
June 5
Mutual aid response: 1:49 p.m., (Southeast Auburn). Having responded to a structure fire raging in Mountain View Fire & Rescue District 44’s area, VRFA firefighters helped kill the fire. The activity took place on the outside of the structure because of its age and condition. No injuries were reported, but the mobile home sustained significant damage.
