The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 173 calls for service between Nov. 14 and Nov. 20, among them the following:
Nov. 14
Aid call: 2:58 p.m. (Pacific). Firefighters were called to a female patient locked in her car due to a large pit bull circling her driveway. The woman had a scraped knee from attempting to elude the canine on foot. Pacific police secured the dog without incident and the patient did not require further medical treatment.
Nov. 15
Aid call: 7:33 a.m. (Algona). Firefighters assisted an adult male complaining of abdominal pain. The patient was transported to Auburn Regional Medical Center in stable condition by private ambulance.
Nov. 16
Aid call: 11:23 a.m. (Lea Hill). Firefighters assisted a woman who accidentally cut several fingers while preparing lunch. The patient was treated and was able to drive herself to a local hospital for further care.
Nov. 17
Electrical problem: 1:01 p.m. (Pacific). Firefighters responded to Cobble Court Apartments for an electrical problem. Firefighters observed a portable electric heater plugged into a small extension cord that was buried under a pile of clothes. The cord was too small to handle the heaters electrical needs and heated up under the pile of clothing. The heater was unplugged.
Nov. 18
House fire: 1:18 a.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responded to flames coming from a home at 4040 Auburn Way S. Firefighters arrived to find a 12-by-50-foot mobile home with flames showing from windows in the center of the structure. Firefighters extinguished the fire. The home was unoccupied and there were no injuries. The fire is under investigation by the South King Fire Investigation Task Force.
Nov. 19
Aid call: 4:07 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responded to an adult female that had been hit by a car on her bike. Firefighters treated the patient for minor cuts. The patient did not want further treatment and was left on scene.
Nov. 20
Aid call: 4:14 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters were dispatched to the report of an elderly female thought to be having a stroke. Firefighters evaluated the patient and she was transported to ARMC in stable condition via private ambulance.
