VRFA fire and rescue blotter | Sept. 29

The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 237 calls for service between Sept. 18 and 24, among them the following:

Sept. 18

Aid call: 12 a.m., (Pacific). Firefighters responded to a senior citizen who was suffering from a possible upper respiratory infection, and a private car drove her to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC).

Sept. 19

Aid call: 5:44 p.m., (Algona). Firefighters treated a woman who was complaining of post-operative abdominal pain, and a private ambulance transported her to MAMC.

Sept. 20

Aid call:: 7:30 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters and King County Medics evaluated a young woman who had overdosed on unknown medications, and medics transported her to a local hospital.

Sept. 21

Aid call: 4:24 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters evaluated and treated a teen who was injured while playing football, and a private ambulance transported him to MAMC for further evaluation and treatment.

Sept. 22

Motor Vehicle Accident: 4:30 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responded to a woman who had hit two parked cars and rolled hers onto its side, pinning her arm underneath. Firefighters used the “Jaws of Life” to lift the car off of her arm, removed her from the vehicle, and a private ambulance hurried her to MAMC.

Sept. 23

Aid call: 4:03 p.m.,(Lea Hill). Firefighters helped a senior who was complaining of chest pain, and King County Medics transported her to MAMC.

Sept. 24

Aid call: 1:46 p.m., (Algona). Firefighters treated a man who had crashed his bicycle on the Interurban Trail, and a private ambulance motored him to MAMC.
